Throwback Thursday >> Twin Cities Family Photos

SCAN0161.jpgHi, Annie here!  Throwback Thursday is all the rage right now and we thought it would be fun to join in today! One Thursday a month we will share pictures from our childhoods.

This is a picture of me eating birthday cake while my Grandma Olga puts a bib on me.

Looking at this picture, I remember a lot of important things…

*I remember visiting this apartment. We had fun dressing up with her clothes and jewelry every single time we visited.
*I remember the furniture especially the old wood console radio she played oldies on.
*I remember her amazing cooking. Her pork chops with egg noodles and tapioca were amazing.
*I remember the little dish of sugar cubes she would let us eat out of.

My grandma was such a great influence in my life. We spent a lot of time with her growing up. Her life story is quite amazing. I was lucky enough to document a lot of her stories on audio tape before dementia set in. I listen to them every once in a while. She passed away when I was 8 months pregnant with my first born. They would have adored Grandma Olga like I did.

Pictures hold such important moments in time. Revisiting a picture can bring back so many emotions and memories. It is so important to take time to snap pictures when you know it is something you or your kids will never forget.
